Biography

Dr. Uqbah Iqbal is the Founder and Managing Director of Pitas Agriculture in Sabah, Malaysia. He holds the distinction of being the youngest Ph.D. graduate in History at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and the only Malaysian to earn a Ph.D. in History during the university’s 43rd Convocation. Dr. Iqbal is a recipient of prestigious awards including the MyBrain 15 Postgraduate Scholarship, Research University Fellowship, Best Researcher Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award at the 1st International Research Awards on Science, Health and Engineering (2019). An accomplished author, Dr. Iqbal has published numerous books and articles focusing on Malay nationalism, economic history, and socio-economic development in Malaysia. His work has been featured in prominent national and international journals. He also serves on editorial boards for several scholarly journals in the fields of social science, history, archaeology, and literature.

Franklin A. Shaffer, EdD, RN, FAAN, FFNMRCSI is a distinguished nursing leader with extensive experience in healthcare administration and education. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Cross Country Healthcare and Chief Nursing Officer for Cross Country Staffing. Dr. Shaffer was appointed to the Nursing Advisory Council by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

His prior roles include Chief Nursing Officer at several medical centers and Deputy Director for the National League for Nursing. He has also held adjunct faculty positions in graduate nursing programs at Teachers College, Columbia University, Adelphi University, and Hunter College.

Dr. Shaffer earned his Doctorate of Education in Nursing Administration, Master of Education in Nursing Administration, and Master of Arts in Nursing Administration and Adult Health all from Teachers College, Columbia University. In 2002, he was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing in recognition of his contributions to the field.

Maria Antonieta Rubio Tyrrell, PhD, MSc, RN is a distinguished nursing professional and educator with expertise in obstetrical, pediatric nursing, hospital administration, and educational technology in health. Leandro Gustavo de Oliveira, PhD, MSc specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his master’s degree (2004) and PhD (2008) from the Federal University of São Paulo, including a sandwich doctorate at Newcastle University, England. He completed postdoctoral research in pregnancy immunology with an emphasis on pre-eclampsia at the Immunology Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Nephrology (UNIFESP) and the Immunobiology Laboratory of Transplantation (USP), where he remains a collaborator researcher. Dr. Oliveira is a medical researcher and developer in the Obstetrics Department at UNIFESP and tutors medical residents at Maternity Hospital Vila Nova Cachoeirinha. His research interests focus on immunology and physiology of pregnancy, trophoblastic invasion, preeclampsia, angiogenesis, and inflammation.
